Jin Shin Jyutsu

What is Jin Shin Jyutsu?

Originally from Japan, Jin Shin Jyutsu is the art of harmonising the life energy in your body. Patterns of vital energy, also known as ‘chi’, continuously circulate through our bodies however, the effect of everyday stresses and strains can cause the energy to be altered.  It may be either flowing too quickly or conversely, becoming sluggish and this discord will eventually cause pain. This is a warning signal and the body’s way of getting our attention, so we can ameliorate the factors causing the disharmony at an early stage.

How does it work?

Using a gentle touch, Jin Shin Jyutsu helps restore the natural flow, not only on the physical level, but also on the mental, emotional and spiritual levels, to bring us back to an overall sense of wellbeing and vitality.

A session usually involves an intitial discussion, followed by an hour’s treatment, which is done in loose comfortable clothing on the massage table. Most sessions imbue the client with a feeling of relaxation, as the practitioner gently places their hands on certain specific areas of your body to help harmonize the flow pattern.

It is surprisingly simple yet effective.

Many of the flows can be used at home, at your own convenience to further support your well being in between sessions. Jin Shin Jyutsu has a strong emphasis on self-care, which encourages you to tune into your own health and apply the appropriate flow, anywhere and at anytime.

What does it help?

Jin Shin Jyutsu works alongside Western medicine and is beneficial for a number of conditions such as, the relief of chronic and acute pain,  the amelioration of digestion issues, the revitilizing of depleted immune systems and an increase in energy the reduction of everyday fatigue and stress.

It is like giving your body a ‘tune up ‘ much like you would have a mechanic regularly see to your car; you can apply these simple methods to get you back on track and maintain optimum health.
